I believe that social media is taking advantage of the teen population because the chance to be famous or internet famous has a alluring factor to teens
ReplyDeleteSocial Media is not taking advantage of teens because it is just what we like to do and they are using it to make a profit. Not all teens are like that.
ReplyDeleteSocial media is not taking advantage of me because i know what I am doing on the internet I know what to post i know what to not post. Yes people follow their fans or whatever but i don't follow what people do on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter you are your own person some might get affected from social media some may not i don't get affected at all.
ReplyDeleteSocial media is taking advantage of people just without people knowing what ever you follow or like that social media site will sell your likes and follows to advertisements
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteSocial media is definitely taking advantage of everybody, it makes people like things and products; like if your favorite celebrity likes something a lot of people fall for it too. They show you products and support things everyday, all they want is money
yes i think it is because the only thing teens want these days are to be famous and they will do what it takes to be famous on vine, you tube, instagram, etc.

ReplyDeleteSocial Media is taking advantage of people because whatever you like or follow is just getting the Social Media more money.
ReplyDeleteThis generation has been put into a world of likes, follows, retweets, favorites, and many other different internet “currencies”. I do believe companies are taking advantage of social media.
ReplyDeleteCompanies that are trying to sell things to consumers will use these “currencies” to inflate their products. For example if Vic Firth (A famous drum company) came out with a new drumstick and posted about it on twitter, facebook, or youtube, i would retweet, like, or share that information so my friends who are drummers will share, retweet, and like it. Then their friends would see it and it becomes a domino effect until many people find out about it. Companies use the consumer for advertisement.
i thing social media is taking advantage of teens because they want the money and they want to get something out of it.
ReplyDeleteSocial media is not taking advantage on me because i know what i doing. But i do think that is has a influence on everyone because we still post stuff like regular teenagers.
ReplyDeletei don't think it is taking advantage of us because we are the ones that chose to use social medias its not like they are forcing us to use the internet
ReplyDeleteSocial media is taking advantage of teens, its addicting and you just want to stay on it all the time. And the more you pay attention to it the more things you find which makes you stay on longer.
ReplyDeletesocial media definitely has an impact on a lot of people , people do inappropriate things on social media websites but others are responsible
ReplyDelete-kids spend more time using technology
ReplyDelete-Likes/retweets helps the companies make money
-If a brand likes a famous person, and you like both the brand can notice you
-most kids want to be popular and get likes
-The more inappropriate the pic/video the more likes/views it will get.
Social media can take advantage of you in some ways. You can become so obsessed with it that it's the only thing important in your life. You care about how many likes you get. It can also be a good thing too. If you have a talent, you can promote your talent and maybe land you a record deal if you are good at singing. You can take advantage of social media or social media can take advantage of you.
ReplyDeleteNo. It's irrational to make that assumption. Humans have free will. For social media to be considered to "take advantage of you", the user would have to be so dependent they are socially inept without it. This simply is not the case. For it's intended purpose, socially media cannot be considered taking advantage of the user.
ReplyDeleteI think social media is just used for money #like#yolo
ReplyDeleteNot me specifically but in general yes. This is because kids don’t even realise the significance and power of social media. They don’t understand how much they are doing for companies by liking one thing on facebook. It also makes everyone live off of something that isn’t even real life. It’s a distraction from the real world. When I was a kid my only “goal” was to do a good job coloring in a coloring book. Now in this generation kids’ goals are to get “retweets”. It also gets these teens to become more famous, as well as promoting other companies and social medias to go up in worth. It gives these companies a way to see what products people are into.
ReplyDeleteI think social media is just used for money #Like#swaeg
ReplyDelete“The more likes you have, the better you feel.”
ReplyDeleteThe one boy said you can’t wait to find out if people like you so you need likes
“when you like someone’s post and they like it back and their friends see it, they like you too.”
“To stand on the side line is not an option.”
Companies need kids to stay online
“It’s all about likes.”
I think that social media is taking advantage of peoples lives. Some kids get so obsessed with it that its the only thing they wanna do in their teenage life. Instead of going out side to hang with their friends they are on instagram or twitter.
ReplyDeleteI use social media a lot on my computer at home, but I think it is normal for me but not too much of it. I also use Youtube to connect with fans in the videogame category. But I make sure I'm not hooked to it all day.
ReplyDelete1. teenagers are desperate for likes and attention
ReplyDelete2. people will do anything to get famous
3. companies take advantage of the kids
4. the kids are actually advertising themselves
5. social media is taking advantage of kids
I feel like social media is a distraction to me. i think this because i can be in class and just get bored and go on twitter
Companies can make money off our views, subscribes or shares
ReplyDeletePeople can become more noticeable by doing stuff with more ‘famous’ people on sites
Getting likes and shares and what not makes people feel like better about ourselves
People can get sponsored by companies and get free products to show off
Likes has become a so called ‘world currency’ on the internet which can be turned into real money
No, social medias are not taking advantage of us because we choose to go on their sites and we can choose not to click the ads.
They feel better about themselves and feel like their important and becoming more known and noticeable in a good way.
kids want to be involved in everything
ReplyDeletepeople can become famous with anything
corporates make money off of everything you do if you can make money
people will do anything they can to become popular of noticed by companies.
social media can change people’s lives and they way they live.
Social media is not taking over our lives because this is the future for our lives. social media can be addictive but only when people use it for the wrong reasons.
When people try to use social media to get noticed, it is a good and a bad thing. People make stupid choices such as hurting themselves for pity and becoming very desperate.
People will do stupid stuff to be famous.
ReplyDeleteI do not believe that technology is taking advantage of me because i rarely use my facebook and do not have twitter. I do however go on youtube frequently which might make it so it has some hold over me but i tend to not have any social media goals as it does not interest me.
ReplyDelete1-The kids in the video reblog, retweet, like, etc. I can relate to that because i normally do that like everyday.
ReplyDelete2- Most kids like to put their talents out on social media.
3- Most teens make YouTube videos to get their name out.
4- I know most kids post videos, blogs, pages, etc to get more people to like, subscribe, follow, etc to get there name out.
5- It helps get sponsors from big brand name companies.
I don't think that the social media is taking advantage of us. We are just being ordinary teenagers. Everyone chooses to use the internet. No one is forcing us to use it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Social Media is taking advantage of us because we are the ones that chose to use social medias, they are not forcing us to use the their websites.
ReplyDeletePeople over use social media for likes and the fam. The likes bring money to companies. Social media taking advantage of people because, they pull you in through all the pictures and posts through the thinks you like, but then again you chose to go on. The kids who hang with their friends, and heir laptops thats just not right
ReplyDeleteI believe that social media is not taking advantage of you, maliciously. This is because we, the users of the internet are putting out this information by ourselves, so that the company can use it. I think that there is a growing number of people who are aware that companies use our information, yet they still do this.
ReplyDeleteLikes are the currency in social media. The more likes one can generate the more endorsements , money, or rising fame one will get. Social media takes advantage of users because they do free advertising by just liking a page or re-tweeting something and twitter or Facebook can display ads based on your likes and re-tweets.
ReplyDeleteSocial media affects me in the way where I like to be on it, but I do not care about likes, retweets, and follows. People don't have to like my posts because I already do. As teens start to find their life on social media, they start to become obsessed.
ReplyDeletesocial media and company take advantage of youtubers and twitter people to make money ad they want use the people liking the thing so they make money

ReplyDeletewhat i learned today --- social media is a way for people to get attention even if its not in a good way .
ReplyDeleteI think that social media is sometimes taking advantage of people. Not all, but some people are so focused and consumed by the number of likes and followers they have that they forget about the real world.
ReplyDeleteI think that social media is taking advantage of you some ways just for money, but at the same time it is there to help you connect with people.
ReplyDeleteSocial Media can take advantage of you if you let it. Social Media could become one of the most important things to you and you would do anything to get a certain amount of "likes," "retweets," or followers. If you go so far to get a certain amount of all of that then that's when it would start to take advantage of you. Teens don't understand how much they impact companies by liking or retweeting or following that company. They're making more money for that company with every like, follow, or retweet. Eventually, that teen could become more famous and popular in the social media world.
ReplyDeleteSocial media is taking advantage of people weather they know it or not. The constant campaigning and advertising for many things. Some people use it more responsibly than others but it is constantly keeping people involved and up to date things going on in the world.
ReplyDeleteI think the video was convincing!

ReplyDeleteSocial media is crazy #Takin'Ova'2k14
ReplyDeleteIn some ways yes but at the same time you control what you do on the internet and what you like or look up.
ReplyDeleteSocial Media is not taking advantage of me because i know exactly what i'm doing and if i choose to stop i can. Social media is taking advantage of some kids lives but most of those kids use social media because of lack of something else. Such as kids who don't have many friends in their home town find friends on the internet and these social media websites. Other kids/ teens just want attention so they resort to social media websites to get likes to sit their in their bedroom and be like im noticed, people know who i am. -Brynn Angelique
ReplyDeleteYes because for every like that famous people or anyone gets it all goes to the creators for a simple profit so they are using this social media to get money. People are always on social media's and the creators are getting so much money out of the fun of others. This is also benefiting the people who have popular pages and videos up on facebook or twitter because it gets them followers and views which makes them even more popular, and that gets them sponsors which also gives them free products and money for being popular but does not benefit anyone that is just normal person.
ReplyDeletesocial media is not personally taking over my life but i do go on it a lot at home. some people let the media get to there head and they over use social media. they take advantage of social medias powers by hacking other people information. people that are on YouTube are mostly not for the money but more to entertain other peers.
ReplyDeletewhat i learned today --- social media is a way for people to get attention even if its not in a good way .
ReplyDeletesocial media makes money of young teenagers
ReplyDeletesocial media is all about advertising
social media is all about getting naace
social media is about getting mad likes doe
social media is all about a network of people helping eachother
2. it doesn’t take advantage of you
The idea of likes, takes control of the people who are obtaining the likes.
ReplyDeleteSponsors are the most important part of being famous.
People take advantage of being “famous”.
The ‘Like” button takes over lives.
People take social media way too seriously.
